Assessments of all skills are on Fridays. Many of you were asking when we would begin our beginning of the year assessments for reading levels for AR. This week we will take the I-ready, Achieve 3000, and try for the S.T.A.R. assessment. Please try to make sure your child is here and on time so we can fit these assessments into our full schedule.
When I created your child an Xtra Math account, an email with their login information should have been emailed to you, but many parents haven't received it. I will go back and manually send the information to you individually, along with their Epic accounts.
Capital Campaign is still going strong helping to raise money for our school. Our school receives 100% of the profit. If every child donates $37.50, then we will reach our goal of $30,000. We are already planning an 80's party for the students on Sept.15 for when we hit our fundraising goal of $30,000. Please consider giving a generous donation to help the PTO support Richland!!
Homework for your 2nd Grader is to:
1. Read "Good Fit Books" for 20 minutes each night. It's always good to spend some quality time listening to your child read. A "Good Fit Book" is one that your child is interested in, knows most of the words, and understands what is happening.
2. Practice sight word and passage fluency nightly. Sign off the time and initial.
3. 1-minute Math Sprint.
4. Any class work your child has not finished. Please remember to check your child's binder daily for any school notes or work that your child didn't complete in class. Please, please, please make sure to return all graded papers that were sent home in the Wednesday folders for my records. Thank you all for all that you do, have an excellent week!
