September 13th - Progress reports come home in Wednesday folder. Please sign and return progress report and Wednesday folder.

September 18th - Best Book in Town Kickoff

September 21st- Domino's Pizza Night

Two weeks ago, I showed the children how to sign into EPIC and Zearn. I am able to keep up with your child's progress on both and monitor what lessons they have covered and what books they have read. I can also assign them books, lessons, and quizzes on these platforms. If your child is absent or misses any lessons for any reason, these are the sites that will help them catch up. They are also fun and are good to be on anytime your child wants too. How great would it be if they got ahead with the lessons on Zearn?!

Please send all money in an envelope or Ziplock sandwich bag with your child's name on it, the amount you sent, and what it is for written on the front. I receive a lot of loose money from the children and they have no idea what it's for, they sometimes lay it on my desk and no one remembers who gave it to me or why. So to keep down confusion and loss, remember to label it. Thank you.

Conferences, Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Please remember to check your child's binder daily for any school notes or unfinished class work that will be graded. Your child will be held responsible for keeping up with papers, books, folders, notebooks, and unfinished classwork. I expect them to return their homework finished the following day. Every thing has a place in our classroom and I announce to them all explicitly where to place items when we are done working with them.

Homework for your 2nd Grader is to:

1. Read "Good Fit Books" for 20 minutes each night. It's always good to spend some quality time listening to your child read. A "Good Fit Book" is one that your child is interested in, knows most of the words, and understands what is happening.

2. Practice sight word and passage fluency nightly. Sign off the time and initial.

3. 1-minute Math Sprint.

4. Any class work your child has not finished. It is located in your child's folder in his or her binder on the side labeled "Return".

Last, but not least, please make sure to sign the Wednesday folder sheet and return all graded papers that were sent home, for my records.

Thank you all so much, and enjoy this beautiful week.
